Documents Required for Aadhar Card Registration

Getting an aadhaar card is not that difficult as you may be thinking. All you need are three documents and you will easily get your aadhaar card. You will need one Proof of Identity, one Proof of address and one Proof of date of birth and it’s done. You will need to carry these documents in original to the enrolment center for the cross verification. Photocopies of these documents will be submitted for getting an aadhaar card and you will instantly get back your original documents on the spot. There is no need to carry a photograph as it will be done at the center via a webcam.

Supported Documents for (POI) Proof of Identity: (You will need any one of the following documents)

  • Passport
  • PAN Card
  • Ration/ PDS Photo Card
  • Voter ID
  • Driving License
  • Government Photo ID Cards/ service photo identity card issued by PSU
  • NREGS Job Card
  • Photo ID issued by Recognized Educational Institution
  • Arms License
  • Photo Bank ATM Card
  • Photo Credit Card
  • Pensioner Photo Card
  • Freedom Fighter Photo Card
  • Kissan Photo Passbook
  • CGHS / ECHS Photo Card
  • Address Card having Name and Photo issued by Department of Posts
  • Certificate of Identify having photo issued by Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on letterhead
  • Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations

Supported Documents for (POA) Proof of Address: (You will need any one of the following documents)

  • Passport
  • Bank Statement/ Passbook
  • Post Office Account Statement/Passbook
  • Ration Card
  • Voter ID
  • Driving License
  • Government Photo ID cards/ service photo identity card issued by PSU
  • Electricity/Water/Telephone Landline Bill (not older than 3 months)
  • Property Tax Receipt (not older than 3 months)
  • Credit Card Statement (not older than 3 months)
  • Insurance Policy
  • Signed Letter having Photo from Bank on letterhead
  • Signed Letter having Photo issued by registered Company on letterhead
  • Signed Letter having Photo issued by Recognized Educational Instruction on letterhead
  • NREGS Job Card
  • Arms License
  • Pensioner Card
  • Freedom Fighter Card
  • Kissan Passbook
  • CGHS / ECHS Card
  • Certificate of Address having photo issued by MP or MLA or Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on letterhead
  • Certificate of Address issued by Village Panchayat head or its equivalent authority (for rural areas)
  • Income Tax Assessment Order
  • Vehicle Registration Certificate
  • Registered Sale / Lease / Rent Agreement
  • Address Card having Photo issued by Department of Posts
  • Caste and Domicile Certificate having Photo issued by State Govt.
  • Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations
  • Gas Connection Bill (not older than 3 months)
  • Passport of Spouse
  • Passport of Parents(in case of Minor)

Supported Documents for (POD) Proof of Date of Birth: (You will need any one of the following documents)

  • Birth Certificate
  • SSLC Book/Certificate
  • Passport
  • Certificate of Date of Birth issued by Group A Gazetted Officer on letterhead

Even there is no valid documents, a person can still enroll but his name should exist in the family entitlement document. However, the Head of family should have an aadhaar card and only then he can introduce the member of his family for enrolling under aadhaar card. A proof of relationship needs to be submitted in this case:

Supported Documents for (POR) Proof of Relationship: (You will need any one of the following documents)

  • PDS Card
  • MNREGA Job Card
  • CGHS/State Government/ECHS/ESIC Medical card
  • Pension Card
  • Army Canteen Card
  • Passport
  • Birth Certificate issued by Registrar of Birth, Municipal Corporation and other notified local government bodies like Taluk, Tehsil etc.
  • Any other Central/State government issued family entitlement document.

Documents for kids:

There is no age bar for getting an aadhaar card and even a 1 year old kid can get it. Kids under the age of 5 do not need to give any biometric data as it keeps on changing. However, once the kid reached the age of 5 years, his biometric details will be collected. The Aadhaar card will be linked to his guardian or his parents.

A proof of date of birth is necessary for kids. For getting a kids aadhaar card, proof of identity and proof of address of the parents will be needed.
