Aadhaar Card is a modern proof of identity which is linked with your finger print scan and your iris scan. It is issued by UIDAI on the behalf of Indian Government and can be used as proof of identity and proof of address in banking, internet shopping, ticket bookings etc. It contains a unique 12 digit code and it can be used for many services. It is the same card which is needed to become a part of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.

What is the age limit for getting aadhaar card?

There is no age limit for getting an aadhar card. Even a 1 year old kid can get it. In case of kids, documents of their parents will be needed. There is no bar on the maximum or minimum age for getting aadhaar card.

I am an NRI or a Non- Indian, can I get aadhaar card?

Do I need to have a bank account for getting Aadhaar number?

No, there is no need to have a bank account and also there is no fees/charge for getting an aadhaar number. It is free of cost.

What all documents do I need?

You will need a Proof of Identity, Proof of Address and Proof of date of birth. In case, you don’t possess any of the documents, you can get an aadhaar card on your family relationship card and even if a person having an aadhaar card becomes an introducer for you, can help you out in getting your aadhaar card.
